Linguist - Kurdish Sorani - Theology

Role Description

We are currently looking for experienced Kurdish Sorani linguists to join our Theology Talent Community. We are seeking linguists with a strong background in Christian theological translation and a deep understanding of Scripture, doctrine, and ecclesiastical traditions.

• Translate Christian theological content — including sermons, Scripture commentaries, catechetical materials, liturgical texts, and devotional resources — between English and your native language with a high degree of accuracy and doctrinal consistency.
• Ensure translations reflect market-specific ecclesiastical traditions, theological terminology, and formatting conventions appropriate to the target faith community.
• Apply rigorous quality standards to deliver precise, faithful content where theological accuracy and sensitivity to scriptural intent are critical.
• Adapt sermons, Christian media, and ministry video content for multilingual audiences through accurate subtitling and culturally appropriate localization.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in the target language(s).
• A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
• The ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.
• Proven professional experience in translation, localization, or subtitling within the theological or religious domain.
