Senior Docket Specialist

Senior Docket CoordinatorA leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Docket Coordinator for its Washington, D.C. office. This role handles electronic filings in federal, state, and appellate courts, as well as agencies and other tribunals, and serves as a resource for procedural and filing questions across the firm. The coordinator calculates and calendars deadlines generated by court documents using an automated docketing system, and monitors and interprets evolving court and agency rules to keep attorneys and staff informed. On the court services side, responsibilities include reviewing documents for compliance before filing, communicating e-filing procedures and updates to attorneys and paralegals, directing third-party filing and vendor services, and performing procedural research in jurisdictions nationwide. On the calendar and rules side, the coordinator applies deep knowledge of state and federal court procedures, maintains accuracy and consistency across calendar entries, prepares and distributes weekly firmwide calendar reports, and tracks rule changes across courts and agencies. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, 2–3 years of docketing and e-filing experience in state and federal courts and other tribunals, and working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedure and related local rules. Experience with CompuLaw or a similar system is preferred. Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. The salary range for this role is $76,000–$106,000.
