Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference supporting students during ESY (Extended School Year) sessions working as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity, conveniently located near Liberty, MO, spans from June 1 to June 25 and offers valuable experience in diverse special education classroom settings. With one opening available in a GOALS classroom at the high school level and another in elementary essential skills, you'll help empower learners to achieve their individual goals in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Missouri
- Prior experience working with students in special education settings required
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches for various learning needs
- Strong classroom management skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude and effective communication with students, staff, and families
Primary Duties:
- Provide dynamic and individualized instruction for students in GOALS or essential skills environments
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure each student receives appropriate support
- Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and administrative staff
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
- Track progress and adjust teaching strategies based on student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
This role is scheduled for 25 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, making it ideal for professionals seeking a consistent yet flexible summer position in education. It’s a fantastic way to expand your expertise in special education and make a measurable impact during the ESY term.
