University of Colorado Anschutz Department: College of Nursing Job Title: IT Technician II Position #: 00850941 – Requisition #: 40603 Job Summary: The IT Technician II provides IT work unit activities, includingsetup and maintenance of desktop and /laptop PCs and Macs,printers, and peripherals, in accordance with established Office ofInformation Technology and CU Nursing Information Technologypolicies and procedures; problem diagnosis and resolution forcomputer software and hardware; assisting and educating end usersregarding technology-related questions, problems, andpolicies. Key Responsibilities: Computer Support and Ticket Resolution (35%) Resolve or facilitate resolution of end-user questions and issuesby providing "best practice -and acceptable answers" solutions fordesktop, laptop, network, hardware, and software problems, at theclient level, for College of Nursing end users via telephone (usingremote assistance), e-mail, or in-person. Hardware and Software Support (25%) Set up new and re-image existing Windows and MacOS desktops andlaptops for clients and/or labs. This includes installing operatingsystems, configuring network printers, updating computer drivers,and other peripherals that may be required Onboarding and Offboarding Users (10%) Add/remove users to/from security and email groups via ActiveDirectory (AD) and Office.365. This includes attendingonboarding/offboarding meetings to know employees' statuses andworking with OIT to create or archive the users' personal homedrives, phone numbers, and mailboxes. Coordinate with the Office of Technology (OIT) (5%) Coordinate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) staff toperform problem analysis and achieve resolution of problems in atimely manner, and when appropriate and required, escalatetoappropriate OIT department personnel to assist in resolution.Perform preventative maintenance duties on technology-relatedequipment and facilities to assure superior/trouble-freefunctionality. Assignment and Updating Zendesk Tickets (5%) Assign tickets to other team members to spread workload evenlyamong users Use provided issue tracking software (Zendesk), knowledgebase, andother resources to resolve and process requests for service,reviewing for accuracy and completeness; obtain additionalinformation if necessary. Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year of experience in desktop support, or a technologysupport role. Substitution: A combination of related education, formalizedapprenticeship program, and/or certification will substitute forthe required experience on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in higher education or healthcare. Experience working with the Zendesk ticketing system. One (1) year of experience providing customer service viaphone, email, and in-person. Experience supporting Microsoft Office products andWindows Experience Mac desktops and laptops, MacOS, and iOS. One (1) year of experience troubleshooting IT issues, such asfor networks, printers, and/or similar. Office 365 knowledge. Attention to detail. Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range for this position has been established as $4,278 to $4,916 per month ( $51,340 to $59,000 peryear ) . This position is eligible for overtime compensation. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith andreasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at thetime of posting.
