Executive Medical Director- Nephrology

Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Executive Medical Director leading clinical development strategy for a nephrology program at a global biotechnology company. This role involves high-level clinical input, regulatory interface, and cross-functional collaboration to advance drug development initiatives.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical development recommendations and optimize study design and conduct for efficiency
Oversee medical monitoring, review study protocols and investigator brochures, and evaluate safety profiles
Interface with international regulatory authorities to support development objectives
Lead multi-disciplinary development teams and manage financial and human resource responsibilities
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and good clinical practice standards

Requirements

MD, DO, or equivalent international medical degree
15 years pharmaceutical industry experience including clinical trials and development programs
7 years management experience
Global clinical research experience and regulatory authority interactions
Comprehensive knowledge of US and EU regulatory requirements and drug development processes
Experience filing and defending INDs, NDAs, or international equivalents
Board certification or eligibility in a medical specialty desired

Compensation: $320,000 - $480,000 base
