Dispatch Supervisor

Key ResponsibilitiesDispatch SupervisionSupervise headquarters-based dispatch personnel responsible for coordinating freight across all Graystar hubsProvide daily direction, oversight, and support to ensure accurate and efficient dispatch executionMonitor dispatcher performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance when neededEnsure consistent adherence to company dispatch procedures and operational standardsCentralized Dispatch OperationsOversee daily freight coordination for local and OTR operations across all hubsAssign and adjust driver workloads to ensure balanced utilization across the networkManage real-time changes in freight demand, capacity, delays, and service requirementsEnsure all shipments are properly scheduled and executed in a timely mannerCommunication & CoordinationServe as a key communication link between dispatch, Hub Managers, and driversEnsure timely and accurate communication of assignments, updates, and service changesCoordinate resolution of operational issues affecting freight movement or driver availabilityMaintain alignment between headquarters and all hub operationsOperational MonitoringTrack freight movement, driver activity, and equipment status across all hubsMonitor on-time performance, service execution, and operational efficiency metricsIdentify delays, inefficiencies, or disruptions and take corrective actionMaintain accurate dispatch logs and operational recordsProblem Solving & ExecutionResolve scheduling conflicts, coverage gaps, and operational disruptions in real timeAdjust dispatch plans to maintain service continuity across the networkMake operational decisions to support efficiency and on-time performanceEscalate significant issues to senior leadership when necessarySafety & ComplianceEnsure all dispatch activities comply with DOT, FMCSA, and Hours of Service regulationsMonitor driver availability and compliance during assignment planningReport safety incidents, violations, or concerns immediately to leadershipQualificationsRequired3+ years of experience in dispatch, transportation coordination, or logistics operations1+ year of supervisory or lead experience in dispatch or transportation operationsStrong understanding of trucking operations (local and/or OTR)Ability to manage fast-paced, high-volume operational environmentsStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with transportation management systems (TMS) preferredPreferredExperience supervising dispatch teams or working in a centralized control environmentFamiliarity with multi-terminal transportation networksKnowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and Hours of Service regulationsCore CompetenciesDispatch SupervisionOperational CoordinationReal-Time Decision MakingTeam LeadershipCommunication & AccountabilityProblem SolvingTime ManagementTransportation Systems KnowledgeBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and company holidaysCareer advancement opportunities within transportation operationsHeadquarters-based supervisory role supporting a multi-hub networkGraystar Logistics LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
