Mechanical AssemblerLocation: Fort Collins, CO Shift: Day Shift | 8:00am – 5:00pm Pay: $20–$30/hour, based on experiencePosition Overview: This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a small manufacturing shop looking for a Mechanical Assembler who's comfortable working hands-on and independently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, fabricating, and assembling components from start to finish and takes pride in seeing the final product ship out the door.What You'll Be Doing:Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools for drilling, tapping, cutting, filing, and bendingWork with materials including aluminum, copper, steel, plastic, and fiberglassOperate basic shop equipment such as a small drill press, bench-top belt sander, and band sawUse measurement tools including calipers and other standard shop measuring devicesSolder connectors to copper wire (12–20 gauge) using a soldering ironFollow written and verbal instructions to complete parts and sub-assemblies accurately and on timeCreate and maintain your own notes or work instructions once trainedOccasionally assist with printed circuit board-related work (plus, not required)What We're Looking For:3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience preferredStrong mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on skillsComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionAble to manage your own workflow and stay organized in a small-shop environmentWilling and able to demonstrate mechanical and soldering skills during the interview processNo formal education, blueprint reading, or schematic experience requiredWork Environment & Schedule:Small production team (approximately 7 employees on the shop floor)Day shift, typically 8:00am–5:00pmOvertime is rare and project-driven; mandatory OT may occur occasionally for short periodsOptional overtime may be offered during high-order yearsOvertime paid at 1.5xBenefits (Full-Time, 40 hrs/week):Medical, dental, and vision insurance (company pays 50% of employee-only health premium)Health Savings Account option with high-deductible plansPaid time off: 1 week in year one2 weeks in years 2–63 weeks after 7+ years6 paid holidays plus up to 3 bereavement daysCompany-matched SIMPLE IRA (up to 3% of annual income)Why People Succeed Here: People who do well in this role are self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and take ownership of their work.
