Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Providence, Washington

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with high-risk experience to join our Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will be capable of functioning in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, working with both midwifery clients and private OBs. The role includes providing care for both mothers and newborns, assuring patient safety, and adhering to established protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer care to high-risk perinatal patients in a labor and delivery setting.
• Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing immediate care to newborns.
• Perform newborn assessments including administering Vitamin K injections and monitoring for hypoglycemia.
• Float between postpartum and antepartum as needed, ensuring comprehensive care across units.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic fetal monitoring and charting systems.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery or comparable high-risk settings.
• Active compact RN license required.
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP; Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
