If you're looking for long-term career growth, Pregis is the place to build your future.What You'll DoAs a Converting Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.Production OperationsSet up and operate converting and finishing equipment with minimal supervisionReview job tickets and production specifications before beginning production runsVerify materials and components are available and meet production requirementsMonitor machine performance, product quality, and production outputMaintain productivity, waste, and quality standards established by PregisEnsure jobs are completed accurately and on scheduleTrack production counts and maintain accurate production documentationSupport efficient shift transitions through clear communication and documentationEquipment Setup & OperationOperate and adjust splicers, gluers, Straub applicators, label applicators, rotary cutters, register systems, and other ancillary converting equipmentSet glue rollers and perform line web-upsChange printing plates, cylinders, and glue padsMonitor and adjust tension control systemsMaintain print quality and registration standards throughout production runsPerform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and machine inspectionsEnsure all equipment is operating safely and efficientlyTroubleshooting & Continuous ImprovementIdentify production and equipment issues and implement solutions when possiblePerform minor mechanical repairs and machine adjustmentsSupport process improvements focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reductionAssist in training team members as neededRecommend improvements to equipment, processes, and production methodsSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the departmentQuality & SafetyFollow all company safety procedures and PPE requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAdhere to all Pregis Standard Operating ProceduresEnsure finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standardsPromote a positive safety culture through safe work practices and teamworkWhat We're Looking ForExperience operating converting, printing, packaging, or manufacturing equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and follow production specifications and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently while achieving production goalsEffective communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvementAbility to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred Industry ExperienceCandidates with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:Flexible packaging manufacturingPrinting and press operationsFlexographic printingConverting operationsFilm productionPackaging manufacturingLabel manufacturingBindery and finishing operationsWeb handling systemsPrint registration and quality controlMachine setup and changeoversExperience with MBO, Stahl, Vacuum, flexographic presses, converting equipment, printing presses, web handling systems, or packaging machinery is highly preferred.Physical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, and stoopingFrequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipmentAbility to work 12-hour shiftsOccasional computer and keyboard useWork EnvironmentManufacturing production facilityExposure to moving equipment and machineryIndoor working environmentTemperatures may exceed 90°FHumidity levels may exceed 80%Noise levels may exceed 85 dBRequired use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required5-7 years of progressively responsible manufacturing, converting, printing, packaging, or related experienceExperience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment preferredMechanical troubleshooting experience is a plusWhy Join Pregis?Competitive payMedical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysPaid training and development opportunitiesCareer advancement pathwaysStable and growing manufacturing environmentSafety-focused cultureOpportunity to build long-term skills and advance within Pregis
