Role Description The Athletic Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in the South Dayton /Cincinnati Metropolitan Area, supporting pediatric and adolescent patients in sports medicine and injury prevention. This position provides direct clinical care, including injury evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation exercises, and return-to-play guidance under the supervision of physicians and sports medicine providers. Day-to-day responsibilities include documenting patient encounters, monitoring progress, coordinating care plans, and communicating with patients, families, coaches, and school staff. The Athletic Trainer will also participate in educational outreach on injury prevention, safe conditioning practices, and wellness initiatives tailored to young athletes. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines are essential aspects of this role. Qualifications Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and eligibility for or possession of state licensure in Athletic Training. Demonstrated skills in injury assessment, rehabilitation planning, therapeutic exercise, and return-to-play decision-making for pediatric and adolescent populations. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, medical staff, school personnel, and community partners, with the ability to explain clinical information clearly and compassionately. Experience working in sports medicine, school-based athletics, or pediatric healthcare settings, with a focus on injury prevention and safe participation in physical activity. Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation, follow safety and infection control procedures, and use electronic health record systems effectively. Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field; master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
