Position Title Assembler, Mechanical Business Unit Maag Gala, Inc. Reports To Production and Planning Manager Position Location Eagle Rock VA/ Granby St, Roanoke, VA Position Type Full‑time Main Position Objectives The Mechanical Assembly Technician provides the highest quality work ethic and character for assembling the Maag family of equipment, including dryers of all sizes and TWS systems, with an emphasis on hitting customer delivery dates. Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies Assemble dryer rotors and housings using hand tools and power tools by referencing 2D assembly drawings. Balance rotors on all size dryers using overhead cranes and balancing equipment. Build and mount dryer component parts such as agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves using hand tools and air tools while referencing 2D assembly drawings. Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings using soap water and air. Engrave equipment name plates using an engraver, laser marker, or dot peen marker. Fill out check sheets while assembling the equipment to ensure product quality meets expectations. Put together piping assemblies using hand tools and power tools. Other tasks as assigned by manager. Work Environment Work is primarily on the Eagle Rock assembly floor; the incumbent may also be asked to assemble at the Roanoke facility when needed. The job involves moving mechanical parts, vibration, and exposure to loud noise; PPE may be required. Physical Requirements The role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must regularly lift items up to 50 pounds, use hands to finger or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Forklift training and the use of lifts and ladders to assemble on structures up to five feet or higher are required. The employee will also work in a warehouse environment with varying temperature, humidity, and weather conditions.
