Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Title: Junior Accountant Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite) Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire Compensation: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k). Job Description Addison Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Accountant for a growing organization in Anaheim, CA. This temp‑to‑hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting who is looking to build upon a strong foundation in accounts payable while gaining exposure to general ledger accounting, journal entries, prepaid expense accounting, and month‑end close activities. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for processing high‑volume accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate vendor records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, an understanding of accounting principles, and a desire to grow within a corporate accounting environment. Responsibilities Process and code vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Perform three‑way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices. Review and reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve payment issues. Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor setup and documentation. Process employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions. Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire payment support documentation. Assist with month‑end close activities, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations. Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization entries. Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances. Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and prepare reports. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals, coding, and documentation. Maintain organized accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist with audits, special projects, and other accounting‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 1+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred. Understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and three‑way matching. Understanding of prepaid expenses, accruals, and basic general ledger accounting. Experience preparing journal entries or assisting with month‑end close activities is preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar accounting software. Experience in a high‑volume accounts payable environment. Exposure to general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes. Experience working within a corporate accounting department.
