Job Title: Outside Sales/Metal Fabricator Business Development - Metal Fabrication Industry (Uncapped Commission) Company Overview We are a leading metal fabrication company specializing in custom metal cutting, bending, welding, and assembly services for industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction, and manufacturing. Job Summary The Outside Sales/Metal Fabrication Business Development will lead sales efforts in the metal fabrication sector, focusing on expanding market share through aggressive prospecting, relationship building, and deal closing. This role requires a results-oriented professional who excels as an aggressive closer, persistently driving negotiations to successful conclusions while meeting or exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of metal fabrication processes and a proven track record in industrial sales. Key Responsibilities Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to generate leads in the metal fabrication market. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored metal fabrication solutions to foster long-term partnerships. Sales Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute effective sales strategies, including market analysis, pricing negotiations, and competitive positioning to achieve revenue goals. Aggressive Closing: Act as a tenacious closer by leading negotiations, overcoming objections, and sealing deals with a focus on high-value contracts in metal fabrication projects, ensuring quick and efficient conversion of leads to sales. Team Leadership (if applicable): Manage and mentor a team of sales representatives, providing guidance on closing techniques and performance metrics to drive team success. Market Intelligence: Gather and analyze regional market data, including customer feedback and competitor activities, to improve sales processes and identify growth areas. Reporting and Forecasting: Track sales performance, prepare reports on key metrics such as revenue, pipeline status, and customer acquisition, and forecast future sales trends. Product Knowledge Application: Utilize in-depth knowledge of metallurgy, fabrication techniques (e.g., CNC machining, laser cutting), and industry applications to educate clients and demonstrate value. Travel and Client Visits: Conduct frequent on-site visits to clients and prospects, requiring up to 50-70% travel within assigned territories. Qualifications and Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in sales or metal fabrication will be considered. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in outside sales, with at least 3 years in the metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial sectors. Proven experience as an aggressive closer with a history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas. Skills: Exceptional closing abilities, with a persistent and assertive approach to negotiations. Strong communication and presentation skills for pitching complex fabrication solutions. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesmate) and sales analytics tools. Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., ISO certifications). Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with internal teams like engineering and production. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
