Responsibilities Inspect the truck pre‑trip and post‑trip; record findings on inspection sheets. Maintain accurate logs (fuel, mileage, E‑Log, daily log sheets, trip records) and complete bills of lading. Load and secure cargo, assist with pickup and drop‑off to ensure safety during transit. Obtain necessary signatures on shipping/receiving documents. Monitor truck maintenance and report any issues to maintenance crew. Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers; report delays, accidents, or mechanical problems as required. Follow all federal, state, and company DOT regulations, Hours of Service, and safety policies. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the carrier. Qualifications Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (required). 21 years of age or older (some carriers). Minimum 6‑12 months of recent OTR experience; some carriers require two years OTR or specific flat‑bed experience. Good driving record with no recent DUI/DWI or more than a specified number of violations. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and a complete DOT qualification file. Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. Basic knowledge of electronic logs and navigation systems; experience with ELD/ISAAC ELD and automatic transmissions appreciated.
