Work Environment\n

The role of a Mental Health Counselor at our facility is predominantly remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. While the office operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some adjustments to your schedule may be necessary to accommodate patient needs. You will be part of a collaborative team that values open communication and offers significant support to one another.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and help in identifying appropriate treatment methods.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient, focusing on trauma recovery and resilience development.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other specialists in an integrated approach to care, ensuring comprehensive support for each patient.

• Provide effective crisis intervention services for patients in acute distress related to their trauma experiences.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and promote understanding of coping mechanisms and available resources.
\n
• Ensure accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards to maintain patient trust and confidentiality.

• Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development related to trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in the field of trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care provided.

Our patients primarily include individuals who have experienced significant trauma, encompassing a diverse range of backgrounds and life circumstances. We are particularly focused on providing compassionate care for those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must possess current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and proven expertise in trauma-informed treatment modalities is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to a compassionate and non-judgmental approach toward patients.

• Proficiency in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology.
\n
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team is critical.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
