Senior AR Specialist Cash Application & Reconciliation

We’re looking for a detail-driven Accounts Receivable Clerk III to support high-volume cash application and reconciliation activities within our Finance team. Why This Role Matters In this role, you’ll ensure the accuracy of our financial records by managing incoming payments and resolving discrepancies. Your work directly impacts reporting integrity, cash flow visibility, and operational excellence. What You’ll Do Process and apply high-volume daily payments (ACH, wires, lockbox, checks, credit cards) Accurately match payments to customer accounts and invoices Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short pay, and deductions Reconcile cash activity to bank statements and accounting systems Prepare adjustments, journal entries, and support month-end close Partner with Credit, Collections, and Sales teams to resolve discrepancies What Success Looks Like Payments are applied accurately and on time Reconciliations are clean and audit-ready Issues are resolved quickly with minimal escalation Strong partnerships across Finance and Operations What You Bring A High school diploma with Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. 3+ years of Accounts Receivable or accounting experience Strong experience in cash application and reconciliation ERP system proficiency (Oracle, FIS, or similar) Intermediate Excel skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills What Sets You Apart Ability to manage high transaction volume in a fast-paced environment Proactive ownership of discrepancies and resolutions Strong collaboration and communication across teams Why Kirby Benefits and Pay - Competitive pay with a comprehensive benefits package.
