Job Description

As a Security Guard Full Time Patrol Access Control in Sterling, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a dynamic technology location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide welcoming customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while using technology to document observations and support daily operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a technology infrastructure location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and critical infrastructure areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate incident, patrol, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related observations, incidents, and operational concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
