What You'll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematologic conditions.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies in a high-acuity hematology unit.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias for accurate patient assessment.
• Care for patients with blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes.
• Manage central venous access devices, including PICC lines and other central lines.
• Follow strict infection prevention and falls prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

What You Need

• Required:
  • Ohio RN license and Certification in BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo.
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience, including inpatient hematology/oncology.
  • Certification in chemotherapy administration.
  • Proficiency with MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring; ability to interpret dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with blood product administration, IV therapy, and central line management.
• Preferred:
  • NIHSS certification.

About the Assignment

This position is based in a high-volume hematology and oncology unit focusing on acute leukemia patients. The team prioritizes infection control and patient safety, including fall prevention. The environment offers diversity in patient care and a flexible schedule, with no set/blocked scheduling, allowing self-scheduling requests to accommodate your needs. Orientation includes a week of day shifts followed by on-unit training with a preceptor. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks and may include days, nights, or a combination based on department needs.
