KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking to hire a commercial leasing professional who will be a key member of the leasing team, with responsibility for leasing a portion of the company's 5 million square-foot Manhattan office portfolio. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a dynamic and non-bureaucratic environment that provides a great deal of autonomy but can be demanding and oriented towards bottom-line results. The successful candidate will approach the leasing of these properties like an asset manager; that is, this person must be able to think like a principal.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Managing Director of Leasing. Specific responsibilities include:

• Full-cycle responsibility for all aspects of new and renewal leasing transactions, from canvassing, conducting space tours, deal procurement and finalization, to lease negotiations, brokerage agreements and on-going tenant and broker relations.
• Effective coordination with property management, construction, operations, and accounting teams.

• Develop knowledge of all aspects of the assigned buildings.
• Establish positive working relationships with all tenants within the assigned buildings.
• Integrate effectively within the company and establish productive positive working relationships with Ownership, building management, marketing and administrative teams.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Five to eight+ years of relevant experience leasing commercial office and retail space in New York City. Appropriate backgrounds will include leasing roles with a New York City owner/operator of a commercial office portfolio, or as a leasing broker with a commercial service company with agency leasing experience. Solid relationships with Manhattan based commercial real estate brokers are necessary.
• Ability to direct and manage all aspects of a leasing transaction (including renewals, expansions, subleases and assignments) from start to completion, with a high degree of foresight and autonomy, while keeping senior leadership informed and appropriately involved.
• Respected within the NYC brokerage community.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Presence and self-confidence to establish and build strong relationships with colleagues and all the constituents of the role, including the tenants, property managers, lawyers, and outside brokers.
• Ability to proactively lease a portfolio of assets, including:
• The foresight to anticipate issues before they arise.
• The ability to maintain close and positive working relationships with existing tenants.
• Taking a long view of the business and management of the properties, to maximize occupancy and long-term value.
• A pattern of excellence, both personally and professionally, as shown by the individual's education, career record, demeanor, and professional reputation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, and the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership as well as tenants and other relationships of the company. xhyhwjd

• Undergraduate degree required
