Position: Sous Chef
Location: Washington, DC
Pay: $70,000-$85,000/year
Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is looking for a Sous Chef with 3+ years of Sous Chef experience in a high-volume, full-service environment.
Job Summary
Supports BOH leadership by running daily kitchen operations and shifts. Oversees execution, food quality, team performance, and assists with inventory, ordering, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead BOH shifts, including kitchen and dish operations
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and safety standards
- Manage prep, inventory, ordering, and food cost support
- Conduct line checks, pre-shift meetings, and shift transitions
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards
- Train, coach, and develop BOH team members
- Partner with FOH to ensure smooth service
- Support hiring, scheduling, and performance management
Requirements
- Kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, operations, and cost control
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
