Associate General Counsel

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Associate General Counsel to work onsite for one of our client's in the Kansas City, MO area. This person will be responsible for providing legal advice, supporting corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management across the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to provide guidance on legal strategy, business decisions, and regulatory implications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include interpreting complex federal and state insurance regulations, drafting and negotiating high-impact agreements, and leading legal efforts related to disputes, investigations, and regulatory matters. The position also involves overseeing outside counsel, managing litigation strategy, and ensuring cost-effective and aligned legal support. Additionally, the Associate General Counsel plays a key role in establishing governance frameworks, enhancing legal processes, and mentoring legal team members to drive organizational scalability and consistency. This individual proactively identifies emerging legal and industry trends to advise leadership on risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

• 10+ years of experience of broad legal experience with either in-house, law firm, litigation, or insurance

• Skilled in handling legal risk assessments, regulatory interpretations, contracts and governance

• Experience working with executive leaders and providing legal advise

• Strong communication and strategic thinking skills

• Experience managing outside counsel which includes strategy, deliverables and invoice review

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law required • Prior insurance industry experience
