Our client is a growing employer seeking an experienced payroll professional to support accurate, timely payroll operations in an on-site environment.

Our client needs an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting. This role requires someone who can independently review payroll data, resolve discrepancies, meet firm deadlines, and protect confidential employee information.

You are an accurate, organized payroll professional who works well independently and stays focused when priorities shift. You communicate clearly, solve problems effectively, and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

What You'll Do

• Manage each payroll cycle from time record review through processing and final reconciliation.
• Verify pay rates, deductions, benefit contributions, and garnishments for accuracy.
• Import and reconcile data from timekeeping and payroll systems and correct inconsistencies before submission.
• Use Excel to audit data, reconcile totals, and prepare reports.
• Answer employee payroll questions and coordinate corrections with internal contacts.
• Prepare and reconcile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and tracking systems and assist with audits, year-end processing, and process improvements.
• Coordinate payroll data across HRIS, timekeeping, and related systems to maintain accurate employee records.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee updates and payroll matters and provide administrative back-up as needed.

This is an on-site role. No supervisory or travel responsibilities are specified.

What You'll Need

• At least two years of hands-on, in-house experience processing full-cycle payroll for 500 or more employees.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, sorting, filtering, and data validation.
• Ability to reconcile payroll data, identify errors, and resolve issues independently.
• Strong accuracy, sound judgment, organization, and the ability to meet firm deadlines despite interruptions.
• Clear communication, responsive employee service, and discretion with sensitive information.
• Relevant accounting, finance, or business coursework or an FPC or CPP certification preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Experience with multi-site operations, multistate payroll, specialized payroll reporting, and related tax functions preferred.
• Understanding of general ledger and cost-center accounting is helpful.
