Accountant

We are looking for a talented Accountant to join our team specializing in Finance for Cummins Inc. in Troy, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by effectively analyzing, recording, and documenting accounting transactions.

• Strengthen financial integrity through precise general ledger entries and thorough, well-supported account reconciliations.

• Support informed decision-making by providing responsive, professional guidance to management, auditors, and other stakeholders.

• Safeguard the organization's value and trust by maintaining strict confidentiality and protecting sensitive financial information.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends and variances, and communicate insights that drive informed business decisions.

• Solid understanding of internal control frameworks to assess risks, strengthen controls, and implement effective remediation plans.

• Proficiency in applying financial regulations-such as tax, banking, pension, and local accounting rules-to ensure all transactions meet compliance requirements.

• Deep knowledge of US GAAP to accurately evaluate accounting standards, determine business implications, and explain requirements to stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

Experience:

Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Prepares and posts certain monthly journal entries to general ledger

• Prepares monthly account reconciliations for assigned COA's

• Creates various HFM/Onestream reports as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

• Administration and training of CoStar Lease Accounting software.
