About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled and diligent Corporate Legal Officer to join their team in Welkom. You will be responsible for ensuring the company’s adherence to corporate governance standards, managing legal documentation, and providing crucial legal advice to support business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of corporate law, and the ability to manage multiple legal tasks efficiently. This role is vital for maintaining the company's legal integrity and compliance framework. Key Responsibilities Oversee corporate secretarial functions, including the preparation and filing of statutory documents. Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements and contracts. Provide legal advice on corporate law, compliance, and risk management issues. Manage legal aspects of corporate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements in South Africa. Maintain company registers and corporate records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Requirements Qualified Attorney or equivalent legal qualification with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Strong expertise in South African corporate and commercial law. Experience with hybrid work models, demonstrating adaptability and effective remote collaboration. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage complex legal projects.
