The therapist will engage with a diverse team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, in a setting that fosters collaboration and communication. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' histories and develop tailored treatment approaches. Create and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at promoting trauma recovery and building resilience in clients. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support clients through their healing journey. Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process their trauma and cultivate effective coping strategies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for clients, ensuring all aspects of their mental health needs are addressed. Respond promptly to crises and provide necessary support during trauma-related emergencies. Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, employing a strengths-based approach to nurture coping mechanisms and resource awareness. Maintain accurate, confidential patient documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards. Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed practices. Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually refine and enhance therapeutic approaches. Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to survivors of abuse, neglect, military veterans coping with PTSD, and individuals facing significant life changes or losses. The therapist will work tirelessly to promote healing and resilience among clients with various backgrounds, ensuring that each interaction is rooted in empathy and understanding. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized and accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the State of New York. Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a display of compassion and a non-judgmental posture. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications. Preferred Experience Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, preferably focusing on trauma recovery. Proven experience implementing trauma-focused therapies and demonstrating effectiveness in therapeutic interventions. Ability to thrive in high-stress situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. Compensation and Benefits We offer an attractive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
