Duties

Help

• You will inspect assigned work sites for preventive maintenance, intimates appropriate corrective action.
• You will recommend new machines, tools, and the relocation of equipment.
• You will be responsible for initiation of Nuclear Work Permits.
• You will review work documents for adequacy and coordinate any needed changes in work procedures with shop and technical codes.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

*Determining sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments relating to the defueling, refueling and core loading of an assigned nuclear submarine.

*Providing directions to subordinates within the shop to meet efficient and effective shop operations.

*Planning division of workload.

*Executing administrative functions such as scheduling and approving leave, promotions, etc.
