Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health needs to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to their unique situations.

• Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy, employing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) based on client preferences and goals.

• Act as a first responder in crises by offering immediate support and intervention to clients facing acute mental health emergencies.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessment documentation, ensuring adherence to ethical standards.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that consists of psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

• Engage in psychoeducation for clients and families, equipping them with essential information about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources.

• Stay updated on evolving best practices in mental health therapy through continuing education, workshops, and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily involve supporting a diverse clientele, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. You will also engage with families navigating relational difficulties and couples seeking to strengthen their partnerships. Your contributions are vital in guiding clients through their journeys toward improved mental health and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• Current licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (e.g., LMFT, LMHC, LCSW) in the state of New York.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field.

• Robust clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

• Ability to work independently, while also contributing positively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing therapy in a clinical setting is preferred; however, entry-level candidates who meet educational and licensure requirements may also be considered.
