Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)
Must-Have:
- BLS certification
- Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
Description:
Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed. Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol. Observes all documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents. Reports equipment problems in order to comply with regulatory agencies. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principles. Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies the activity level of the dose prior to administration.
