Overview The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to refuse to round it up to 100%. Students at Alpha don’t passively attend lectures. They move through adaptive learning apps at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life skills. Your responsibility is ensuring three core commitments are fulfilled for every student in your cohort: they develop a love for learning, they accelerate their learning by 2×, and they acquire competencies no traditional textbook provides. You also mentor Guides who uphold these commitments across the campus. What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one‑hour interactive life skills and social‑emotional learning sessions with K‑8 students covering topics such as public speaking and focus, adhering to Alpha’s established playbook. Conducting daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of students reach their weekly app‑based goals through age‑appropriate incentives, including school currency and leaderboards. Developing Guides through observation, precise feedback, and direct mentorship so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and consistency to your own. Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint who requires intervention, then delivering that intervention yourself. Personally mentoring your designated student cohort, exemplifying the coaching and motivational techniques you expect every Guide to employ. What You Won’t Be Doing Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum; students engage with adaptive apps, and your responsibility is to make their supporters exceptional. Delivering traditional classroom lectures; you’re 80% performer, 20% content expert. If you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn’t the right fit. Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administrators. When a student achieves 99%, the response is “not yet” — and you’ll be empowered to maintain that standard. Spending time in an office managing paperwork; the majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides. Waiting weeks for performance evaluations. Outcomes are visible in real time via Coachbot, and adjustments occur immediately. Director Of Learning & Development Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha’s three promises for your cohort and the Guides under your leadership: every student loves school, learns at 2× the standard pace, and develops genuine life skills. Basic Requirements Willing or currently located in one of the listed locations (relocation support provided). Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master’s preferred; traditional teaching certifications not sought). Minimum five years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable field. Proven experience designing and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives. Demonstrated history of managing a team of five or more individuals, including hiring and performance‑driven termination decisions. Proven ability to coach, mentor, or deliver constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance. Experience engaging with youth ages five to fourteen in educational or developmental contexts. Strong capability using data and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice‑to‑have Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Business. Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program leader where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable objectives. Background coaching adults in positions where performance was measured and evaluated. Confidence performing before large groups of children; the presence that commands attention in a room full of eight‑year‑olds.
