Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Garfield, NJ, which provides a supportive atmosphere for both staff and patients. Our schedule runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance for our team members. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed by licensed physical therapists, ensuring that each patient's care is aligned with their recovery goals.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold therapies according to established procedures and the overall Plan of Care.
• Educate and train patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living, empowering them to recover functionality and achieve independence.
• Document patient progress comprehensively, maintaining accurate and ongoing records such as progress notes that reflect the efficacy of treatment strategies.
• Identify and refer patients to additional services when necessary to ensure comprehensive care and support.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the therapy department.
• Notify supervising therapists when immediate patient evaluation is required, adhering to the regulations set forth by state practice laws.
• Engage in professional development opportunities, including in-service training related to physical therapy practices and state-mandated continuing education requirements.

In this role, you will be working with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those managing chronic conditions, and athletes rehabilitating from injuries. Qualifications

• Hold an Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Possess a current State of New Jersey Physical Therapy Assistant license, as required by local regulations.
• Demonstrate a minimum of two years of recent experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital environment, showcasing familiarity with multi-disciplinary teams and complex patient care situations.

Compensation and Benefits
