Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite at our hospital facility located in Hillsdale, where a supportive team environment exists. You will benefit from a structured work schedule, operating from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a well-balanced professional life. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on enhancing patients' strength, balance, and mobility.
• Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) safely, allowing them to maintain their independence during recovery.
• Document therapy sessions thoroughly and accurately, updating the therapy team about any changes in the patient's condition or progress.
• Provide instruction to patients and their caregivers on proper mobility techniques and home exercise programs to facilitate their recovery outside of therapy sessions.
• Educate patients and their families regarding therapeutic exercises, care strategies, and wellness techniques, promoting a comprehensive understanding of their treatment.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including therapy assistants, physicians, and nursing staff, to ensure integrated care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and assess patient progress continually, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and communicating updates to the healthcare team and family members.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work primarily with adult patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or managing chronic illnesses. Your empathetic approach will be critical in helping them regain their mobility and strength while promoting their independence and improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field enhances the application.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning skills, and the ability to work well in a team are essential.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitative setting.
• Experience working with geriatric populations or patients recovering from orthopedic procedures is a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation systems is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year, contingent upon experience and qualifications.
