Work Environment

The PTA will work onsite within a hospital setting, where collaboration with physical therapists and other healthcare staff is a cornerstone of our practice. Key Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic interventions as outlined in the physical therapist's plan of care, ensuring each exercise tailored meets the needs of every patient.
• Provide clear, detailed instructions to patients regarding the correct performance of exercises and functional activities, fostering independence and confidence in their recovery journey.
• Monitor patient safety, progress, and technique during treatment sessions to ensure effective outcomes and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in our electronic medical records (EMR) system, including detailed notes on progress, treatment responses, and future objectives.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the supervising physical therapist regarding changes in patient conditions or responses to treatments to facilitate a cohesive care approach.
• Create a positive and motivating environment for patients of varied ages and backgrounds, promoting a commitment to their physical therapy journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of patients, primarily focusing on those undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, and recovery from surgery. This includes treating both active adults and aging populations, ensuring that interventions are appropriately adapted to address each patient's unique needs and fitness levels. Your ability to foster relationships with patients will play a crucial role in enhancing their rehabilitation experience.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New Jersey.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively manage patient workloads and collaborate with team members.
• A strong passion for orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, and direct patient care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as WebPT, NetHealth, or Fusion.
• An interest in manual therapy, performance training, or wellness programming to enhance patient treatment options.
• Experience working with post-surgical patients, athletes, and active aging populations.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive compensation ranging from $85,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
