Work Environment

Located in a modern hospital setting in Paterson, NJ, our clinic offers a collaborative and supportive environment where healthcare professionals can thrive. Our daily operational hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient demand and optimize clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans designed to support patients in improving their mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities aimed at enhancing physical well-being and alleviating pain.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics, effective exercise techniques, and tailored home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery.
• Administer modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously by tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain organization of equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate care that optimizes patient outcomes, ensuring seamless communication across disciplines.
• Provide emotional support to patients, fostering a motivating environment during their rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to professional standards and ethical practices, safeguarding patient confidentiality and rights throughout their care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic caters to a diverse range of patients, including children in pediatric care, older adults in geriatric rehabilitation, and athletes recovering from sports injuries. Each patient presents unique challenges and requires a customized approach to therapy. As a PTA, you will adapt your methods to address the varied needs of these populations, which may involve modifying exercises or using specific modalities based on individual progress and health conditions.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Possession of a valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and specific therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy.
• Proven ability to effectively implement therapeutic exercises and modalities while working under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
• Excellent communication skills, with a knack for building rapport with patients and collaborating as part of a diverse healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
