Position Overview

Gateway Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. Work Environment

You will work onsite in a modern hospital facility located in Jersey City. Our esteemed clinic fosters a supportive atmosphere where professional growth is encouraged and team collaboration is at the forefront of patient care. In this setting, you will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources designed to facilitate effective therapy, including advanced modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient appointments and therapy needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in formulating and implementing customized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patient mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
• Conduct supervised therapeutic exercises and facilitate patient participation through guided stretching and activities designed to alleviate pain and promote healing.
• Educate patients about therapeutic exercises, proper body mechanics, and home exercise regimens to reinforce the recovery process outside of the clinic.
• Administer therapeutic modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold treatment under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor, document, and assess patient progress effectively, noting significant improvements in metrics such as range of motion and strength.
• Prepare treatment areas, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and ready for use in therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, creating a motivating and positive therapeutic environment.
• Maintain professional integrity by adhering to ethical standards and protecting patient confidentiality and rights.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Compensation and Benefits
