Affiliate & Managed Services Organizations Manager

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is seeking an Affiliate and Managed Services Organizations Manager to support the success and growth of the organizations managed through ASPS. Reporting to the Staff Vice President of Business Development and Affiliate Relations, this individual will serve as a key partner to affiliate and managed services organizations, helping translate strategic priorities into effective operational plans and sustainable solutions.

In this role, you’ll collaborate across teams on complex, cross-functional initiatives while identifying opportunities to strengthen operations, optimize processes, and deepen partner engagement. You’ll support client-facing activities, develop implementation strategies, use data and financial insights to inform decisions, and cultivate strong relationships with organizational leaders and stakeholders. You’ll also help establish best-in-class practices that support the unique strategic and operational goals of each organization while leading and developing up to two direct reports.

OVERVIEW

Affiliate and Managed Services Organizations Manager

Reports to: Staff Vice President Business Development and Affiliate Relations

Supervises: Business Development and Operations Programs Manager

Location: Remote in the US, Chicago based preferred

Travel: approx 8x/year

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Serve as a key point of contact and Executive Director for assigned affiliate and managed organizations, building strong relationships with physician and volunteer leaders.

• Partner with organizational leadership to identify strategic priorities and develop implementation plans that support short- and long-term goals.

• Lead and coordinate projects, programs, board activities, and annual scientific meetings, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Support board governance, including meeting agendas and minutes, bylaws, policies, and governance requirements.

• Develop and manage organizational budgets in partnership with ASPS Finance and other internal teams, monitoring financial performance and recommending improvements.

• Drive membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies in partnership with ASPS Membership and Marketing teams.

• Use data and performance metrics to evaluate membership, meetings, marketing, social media, financial performance, and operational effectiveness.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, optimize resources, and strengthen services provided to affiliate and managed organizations.

• Organize and participate in meetings, educational programs, exhibits, and other organizational activities, including occasional evening meetings.

• Lead and support staff while maintaining best-in-class service and operations for assigned organizations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience in a nonprofit, member-driven organization.

• Experience working within a professional society, association, or similar membership organization.

• Demonstrated success leading projects and managing client-facing relationships.

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to turn priorities into actionable solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing, editing, proofreading, presentations, and relationship building.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and solve problems.

• Experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to use information to support decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Asana is a plus.

• Experience with graphic design and layout and developing polished, professional materials.

• A client-focused mindset with the ability to quickly learn services, establish expectations, and build positive relationships with clients, members, volunteers, and stakeholders.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Employment Type: Exempt

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $95,000

Eligible for Overtime: No

Hours per Week: Full Time/37.5 hrs per week
