Job Summary and Qualifications

An Operating Room (OR) Supply Chain Tech (or OR Supply/Inventory Technician) manages the specialized equipment, inventory, and medical supplies required for surgical suites

Core Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain daily stock levels, safety stock (Min/Max), and par levels for storerooms and point-of-use (POU) areas.
• Case Picking ("Pulling Cases"): Accurately assemble and stage the specific instruments, disposable items, and equipment needed for upcoming scheduled surgical procedures based on physician preference.
• Supply Distribution: Receive, unpack, and distribute incoming medical supplies, equipment, and items into inventory tracking systems (like SMART) in a timely manner.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Rotate stock to check expiration dates, barcoding items, process vendor returns and conduct routine random audits of inventory totes.
• Room Support: Assist with restocking surgical core areas and organizing materials for efficient post-procedure cleanup and room turnover.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required
• Experience: Requires 1 year of experience in supply chain, inventory, logistics, or working within an operating room/hospital setting.
• Certifications: Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is generally required within 30 days of hire.
