Adjunct Instructor of Urban Planning

Adjunct Instructor of Urban Planning – Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Analysis, USC Sol Price School of Public Policy We are seeking a working professional with expertise in urban planning, urban policy, urban design, architecture, real estate, or a related field. The successful candidate will hold a master’s degree or doctorate in urban planning or a related discipline and will be able to teach the graduate-level course PPDE 639: Housing Dynamics for Policy and Planning. The course focuses on housing sector dynamics, affordability, homelessness, and gentrification, and includes hands‑on analysis of Census data and community narrative development. Responsibilities Deliver course content in a seminar format and facilitate in‑class activities and assignments. Schedule and conduct office hours, providing student support as appropriate. Create and maintain a syllabus outlining course objectives, schedule, and requirements in coordination with the Department Chair. Grade students’ work in a timely and consistent manner. Qualifications Master’s degree or doctoral degree in urban planning or a related field. Expertise in housing dynamics, urban design, and sustainable community planning. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level preferred; excellent teaching evaluations required.
