Director of the DNP Program and Associate/Professor - Practice Teaching Track

Position Summary FAU's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing seeks a nurse with a DNP degree to serve as both the DNP Program Director and an Associate/Professor on the Practice Teaching Track. The role focuses on academic excellence, curriculum development, faculty and student oversight, and scholarship. DNP Program Director Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the DNP curriculum. Provide leadership in developing and implementing the DNP program's strategic goals and objectives. Develop additional pathways for the DNP beyond the APRN track. Oversee daily operations of the DNP program, including faculty development. Chair DNP committee meetings. Participate in hiring faculty and scheduling courses and teaching assignments. Collaborate with academic advisors to manage student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and completion. Manage admission processes and maintain student records. Manage student placements in DNP project and leadership courses. Provide student advisement. Collaborate with the Center for Online Learning and Continuing Education to ensure online course development and maintenance. Participate in program evaluation and accreditation. Foster educational opportunities where all students thrive. Provide input to the Assistant or Associate Deans on essential matters. Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs, Associate Dean of Academics, and APRN Coordinators. Collaborate with healthcare organizations, community partners, and other academic institutions to enhance the DNP program. Represent the DNP program at local, regional, and national levels. Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations. Teach or co‑teach project‑related courses, providing instruction in project design, implementation science, outcomes measurement, and dissemination. Guide students in applying evidence‑based practices, quality improvement methods, and systems thinking to clinical or organizational problems. Associate/Professor – Practice Teaching Track Responsibilities Expectations and responsibilities include teaching, administration, curriculum development, and scholarship as outlined in the faculty handbook. Minimum Qualifications Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing. Current, unencumbered RN license and eligibility for RN licensure in the state of Florida by time of application. Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing education with at least 3 years in an administrative role within healthcare systems or higher education. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and accreditation processes. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Evidence of research or scholarship productivity, including dissemination of accomplishments. Preferred Qualifications Focused area of scholarly inquiry aligned with College initiatives, advancing caring science within the nursing discipline. Advanced practice graduate degree preferred, with experience in systems or organizational leadership, health policy, or public health. Experience leading or participating in PhD and DNP collaborations.
