Payroll Specialist

HireTalent is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist III for a contract opportunity with a leading industrial automation company in Milwaukee, WI.

In this role, you will support payroll operations for a large employee population across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance, auditing, and reconciliation activities.

Hybrid Schedule: Minimum 3 days onsite per week

Pay Rate

Up to $30.50/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support payroll operations across North America
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and company policies
• Serve as a liaison between employees and third-party payroll vendors
• Assist with payroll reporting, documentation, and process improvements
• Support year-end payroll activities and payroll tax requirements
• Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Required Qualifications

• Experience processing high-volume payroll
• Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation experience
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and payroll tax requirements
• Experience supporting multi-state or multi-country payroll operations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and data analysis
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday
• Experience supporting payroll for Canada, Puerto Rico, and the United States
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Continuous improvement and process optimization experience
