Details Stepdown unit from ICU serving a wide variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines Utilizes a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model with 1 bedside RN, 1 Virtual RN, and 1 CNA per patient Bedside RN patient ratio is 1:4, with CNA ratio at 1:6 Patient population includes approximately 30% cardiac patients (CHF, MI, TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, arrhythmia, ACS) as well as respiratory, neuro overflow, renal overflow, and complex medical-surgical patients Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30 Weekend coverage required, potentially more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs Float requirement includes lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and med-surg within scope No on-call requirements Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active AK RN license required, or license pending with ability to complete application within 48 hours of signing; license must be in hand for auto offer Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Epic charting experience required Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care), IV therapy, and central/peripheral line management preferred Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska Scrubs provided by facility; free parking available May be required to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO requests are strongly preferred to avoid delays in offer processing First-time travelers are accepted for this position Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem staff American Traveler Job ID P-749650.
