This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, serving diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients, and making a meaningful difference in the diagnostic process.ResponsibilitiesDraw blood samples from patients in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times.Verify patient demographic information and label specimens properly, obtaining patient initials and signatures as required.Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following proper handling and processing protocols.Maintain detailed records and documentation of all specimen collections and patient interactions.Create a welcoming and trustworthy environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly and professionally.Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment, adhering to all safety policies and protocols.Perform job duties confidently, whether working independently or as part of a team, across various locations as needed.Support process excellence and confidentiality in all aspects of specimen collection and documentation.Required SkillsStrong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.Proficiency with keyboard and data entry tasks.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.Additional Skills & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.Commitment to customer service excellence, confidentiality, and safety policies.Work in this role to develop your skills while making a positive impact on patient health and diagnostics.
