Business Analyst - Hybrid

Job Title: Business Analyst - Hybrid Duration (Contract): 12 Months Client Location: Richmond, VA 23225 Location Preference: Hybrid Job Description: As a Business Analyst specializing in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), you will support the implementation and enhancement of laboratory systems and web portals while ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, perform system analysis, and support quality assurance activities related to LIMS platforms. This role requires domain knowledge in laboratory environments and hands‑on involvement in system configuration, testing, and process optimization to deliver efficient and compliant solutions. Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for LIMS implementations Participate in system discovery, training, and configuration validation activities Collaborate with stakeholders to understand laboratory workflows and identify improvement opportunities Develop detailed documentation including requirements, functional specifications, and solution designs Conduct workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions for requirement elicitation Create and execute test plans, test cases, and user stories for quality assurance Support configuration validation and QA testing for LIMS systems Analyze data and processes to provide insights and improve system functionality Work within Agile and Waterfall methodologies throughout the project lifecycle Engage with stakeholders to provide updates, manage expectations, and ensure alignment Utilize tools such as Visio and DevOps for documentation and tracking Support implementation and integration of LIMS solutions with enterprise systems Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: Experience working in a laboratory environment or supporting laboratory systems Strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle methodologies including Agile and Waterfall Experience with LIMS systems, including configuration validation and testing Expertise in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication Ability to analyze laboratory processes and recommend improvements or automation Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and user stories Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and DevOps Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience with STARLIMS (LPH version) or similar LIMS platforms (preferred) The hourly range for roles of this nature are $45.00 to $80.00/hr.
