Role Description The Bakery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Dearborn Heights, MI, responsible for overseeing daily bakery operations and supporting a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment. Responsibilities include planning and supervising baking schedules, coordinating product quality and consistency, and ensuring that pastries meet Shatila’s standards for taste, freshness, and appearance. The Bakery Manager will lead bakery staff, assign tasks, train team members on baking processes and food safety procedures, and support a respectful, collaborative work culture. Additional duties include monitoring inventory, placing orders for ingredients and supplies, managing waste, and working closely with front-of-house teams to ensure excellent customer service. The role also involves maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, assisting with production planning for seasonal demand, and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including compliance with local and state regulations.
• Experience with inventory control and ordering procedures to maintain adequate stock and reduce waste.
• Customer service skills to support a positive guest experience and collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience in food service or production is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full time, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in a diverse team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional culinary or baking training is a plus.
