Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise as a dedicated Special Education Teacher to a vital, full-time contract opportunity serving elementary students with behavioral needs. This position supports a self-contained classroom environment tailored for 3rd, 4th, or 6th graders with behavioral challenges, where making a daily impact is both rewarding and meaningful. As a key part of the team, you'll help create a supportive, structured space for students with a range of eligibility—most commonly Other Health Impairments (ADHD/ODD), Autism, and Emotional Disabilities—to access learning at their fullest potential.

What you bring:

• Valid educator certification and current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
• Background in self-contained behavior program classrooms
• Familiarity working with students who are cognitively intact, yet performing below grade level due to disruptive behaviors
• Skillful classroom management, including positive behavior support, individualized accommodations, and crisis prevention/intervention
• Adaptability and compassion to meet the varying needs of 10–15 students per class
• Commitment to both academic and social-emotional student growth

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Implement and monitor positive behavior interventions and supports
• Develop individualized instructional strategies balancing academic rigor and behavioral support
• Maintain consistent communication with families and multidisciplinary team members
• Document progress, update records, and contribute to IEP meetings
