Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher focused on self-contained behavior programs. This full-time role offers the opportunity to foster growth and development in students across 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades, working in dedicated classrooms for those with significant behavioral needs. The setting is supportive and collaborative, with class sizes typically ranging from 10–15 students. Most students carry eligibility under Other Health Impairment (commonly related to ADHD and ODD), Autism, and Emotional Disabilities. While cognitively capable, students often perform below grade level due to behavioral challenges requiring specialized teaching strategies.

Ideal candidates bring proven experience working in self-contained behavior programs and are adept at creating supportive, structured environments that promote both academic and behavioral success.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid educator certification appropriate for Special Education in Arizona
• Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Previous experience in a self-contained behavior classroom required
• Demonstrated ability to manage and support students presenting challenging behaviors
• Strong classroom management and crisis intervention skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized instruction targeting both academic and behavioral goals
• Maintain a structured classroom environment conducive to learning and positive behavior
• Develop behavior intervention plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor student progress, adapting strategies as necessary for optimal growth
• Communicate effectively with families and school staff to support student needs
