Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Blazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher in Birmingham, AL, to support high school students in a self-contained classroom setting for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing individualized academic, behavioral, functional, and transition-focused instruction to help students develop the skills necessary for success both in school and beyond graduation.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education
• Active Alabama Special Education teaching certification
• Ability to meet district and state employment requirements
Responsibilities
• Provide specialized instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals
• Support academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and transition skill development
• Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Facilitate transition planning and post-secondary readiness activities
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Ideal Candidates
• Experience working with secondary students in self-contained settings
• Knowledge of transition planning and functional skill instruction
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Passion for supporting student independence and long-term success
