Production Operator

This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery used in a modern manufacturing process. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure products meet strict quality and safety standards. No prior machine operating experience is required, as comprehensive training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Work both individually and as part of a team to meet production goals and maintain consistent output.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure products meet defined quality standards.
• Conduct regular in-process inspections to maintain quality control throughout the production run.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments during the production process.
• Record key data such as production numbers, machine settings, and product quality information in the appropriate systems.
• Maintain a standard level of productivity and quality output while actively contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Follow all safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
• Comply with cross-training and other training requirements to support operational flexibility.
• Use a computer to enter activities and production information into the ERP system.

Essential Skills

• Ability to speak and read English effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and accurately record measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), operating and maintenance instructions, and other relevant manuals.
• Ability to stand for an 810-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management capabilities.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into an ERP system.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and use PPE consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior production or machine operation experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience with inspection activities in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Comfort with machine setup and basic mechanical adjustments.
• Interest in cross-training and learning multiple production processes.

Work Environment

This position is for 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. You must be flexible to work 12 hours of overtime per day and occasional Saturdays as needed. The facility manufactures a new generation of power transmission lines that are lighter, stronger, and more resistant to environmental degradation than traditional products. The workplace is very clean and modern, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will work on production machinery, use basic computer systems (including an ERP system), and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as part of the standard dress and safety requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
