About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in high-risk environments is required. License: Active compact license in hand at submission. Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Must have current supervisory references. Must pass clinical review. Must have proof of required certifications with submission. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care, including assessments and injections. Description: Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Candidates must have experience in high acuity and fast-paced environments. Candidates with 3 or more years of high-risk experience are considered. First-time travelers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must float to postpartum and antepartum units as required. The unit cares for midwifery clients and private obstetricians. It supports adult recovery services and community care clinics. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is mandatory. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing. The labor and delivery unit is high risk and high volume. There are a total of four operating rooms. Average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month. Candidates must function as a baby nurse during deliveries. Newborn care includes assessments and necessary injections. Candidates must possess skills in high-risk antepartum, postpartum care, and circulating for cesarean sections. Candidates must manage multiple births and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. The schedule is posted every six weeks to meet unit needs. The unit includes a multidisciplinary team for patient support. Floating to other units is rare but may occur as needed. Candidates will be responsible for self-reporting time spent on modules. Travelers may float between facilities nearby if required for the assignment. Failure to float may result in termination of the assignment. Communication devices may be provided if required for the job duties. Candidates should not reach out to facility contacts directly.
