Support a welcoming elementary environment this summer as a 1:1 ASL Paraprofessional working with a young student who communicates using American Sign Language. This rewarding contract position offers a meaningful short-term assignment with potential to continue into the fall for individuals eager to build relationships and make an impact. The assignment runs June 15 to July 24 (excluding June 19 and June 29–July 3), with daily hours from 9:45am to 11:45am.

In this role, you’ll work closely with an elementary student at Forest View Elementary who has just finished kindergarten, helping ensure he thrives socially and academically during this year’s Extended School Year (ESY) program. Whether you’re fluent in ASL or possess a foundational knowledge with the drive to further your skills, your expertise will play a vital part in the student’s success.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); basic ASL knowledge accepted with willingness to learn more
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role strongly preferred
• Positive attitude, patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for special education
• Must be comfortable with the commute to Forest View Elementary
• Resume required for consideration

• Provide individualized daily support for an elementary student, utilizing ASL for communication
• Collaborate with special education staff and the IEP team
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to best practices in student care
