This position is responsible for supporting the data infrastructure and reporting solutions that drive business decisions for both internal stakeholders and clients. Working within a modern technology environment built on Python, Google Cloud, and code-based business intelligence tools, this role contributes across the full data lifecycle - from acquiring and transforming third-party data sources to delivering reliable reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong SQL and analytical skills, enjoys solving complex business problems, and is motivated by building scalable solutions that deliver meaningful business value.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support JOH’s broader data and technology strategy by developing and delivering reliable, scalable solutions while partnering with departments and divisions to solve business challenges through data, reporting, automation and technology. The position requires strong technical skills, analytical thinking, collaboration, and the ability to take ownership of assigned work from development through successful delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner across JOH departments and divisions to identify, prioritize, and develop scalable reporting, data, and technology solutions that improve business processes, increase access to information, and support better decision‑making across the organization. Build and maintain reports and dashboards in our code‑based BI layer (Evidence - SQL + Markdown) Develop and extend our ETL pipelines in Python, processing syndicated point‑of‑sale, shipment and inventory, retailer direct, and panel/loyalty data into clean, query‑ready datasets. Partner with category management and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clearly defined data solutions, helping refine requirements and ensure successful delivery. Support and maintain data quality through validation, reconciliation and proactive identification of issues Contribute to pipeline orchestration, our cloud workflow, and engineering best practices (Git, code review, CI/CD) as you ramp up. Develop and maintain technical documentation to support knowledge sharing, operational continuity, and long‑term maintainability of data assets and processes.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, analytics development, or a similar technical role; 3+ years of relevant experience preferred Strong SQL - you can write, debug, and optimize non‑trivial queries comfortably Working proficiency in Python or demonstrated strong programming aptitude with some scripting experience and the drive to get fluent fast. A real knack for wrangling messy, inconsistent real‑world data and making it trustworthy. Clear communication with non‑technical stakeholders - you can ask the right questions and explain data plainly. Analytical rigor and attention to detail Comfort with version control (Git) or a clear willingness to learn it as a daily habit.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)

Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial but not required: Experience working with CPG data, including syndicated, retailer‑direct, inventory data, or panel & loyalty data Code‑based / “BI‑as‑code” tools: Evidence, dbt, Lightdash, Looker, or similar. Python data tooling, especially Polars (or pandas) and columnar/Parquet workflows. Cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud (Cloud Run, GCS, BigQuery). Pipeline orchestration (Dagster, Airflow, or similar). CI/CD and general software engineering practices. Light web‑app development (Django, HTMX, or similar) for internal tools. Familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) within a CPG context
